Late last winter, I took a walk along the CT River in an area I know eagles sometimes hang out. Pretty quickly, I saw an eagle fly overhead and it looked like it went down toward the water. Low and behold, the eagle had landed right on top of a fairly large iceberg that was floating down the river!
I was on a path that followed the river downstream for quite a distance, so I jogged along with the eagle, who had positioned himself at the "bow" of the iceberg and who seemed to be feeling pretty great about it!
It was getting very late and the intense pinks and blues of brilliant sunset shone on the ice & sky around the eagle. It was a stunning sight to see!
