I was drawn to this rose bush in Elizabeth Park (Hartford, Ct) because of the very thick stems and large thorns. Certainly, this plant would be successful at keeping pests away. I chose monochrome and used high contrast and darkened shadows to emphasize the prickers. This was a handheld single shot as I could not use a tripod without disturbing the garden.
