Harvestman arachnids are not spiders as they do not create silk. They belong to a group commonly called daddy long legs. I found this one on a large mossy rock in McLean Game refuge in Granby, Ct. It should have 8 legs but often they shed some if need be as a defense mechanism. it's amazing what you can learn on the internet of things .
