René Durbois

Rene’s photographic expression was influenced by parents skilled in visual arts, music and beautician art. Seeing studio images produced for the marketing of beauty products invoking a glamor look was his wakeup call to the use of light and composition. Equally influential were the images produced by National Geographic Photographers. Their crafting of a subject into a three dimensional story provided a tool to add substance along with the form and a voice for expression.

Having a Master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rene is familiar with blending technology and communication. The use of photographic technology and software to post process an image, seemed to be a natural extension of his environment and education.

He is inspired by the example of artist in every medium and feels it is akin to standing on the shoulders of giants with perspective.
